I am honored to welcome you to Princeton University and to Whitman College. I look forward to meeting each of you and working with you. I am originally from Monrovia, Liberia but have lived in the U.S. for most of my adult life. I matriculated to Waldorf College in Iowa in the mid-nineties where I double majored in Banking and Finance, and Management, and later obtained an MBA from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. In my quest to work with students rather than crunching numbers, I decided to take a position in student affairs at Otterbein University, where I served as Residence Hall Director and Assistant Director of Orientation and Campus Center. Thereafter, I went back to my Alma Mater to serve as Director of Residence Life before joining the Dartmouth College staff as a Community Director. I joined the Whitman College team in February 2014 as the Director of Student Life and have appreciated my experiences of getting to know Whitman students and their families, and working with them to build a vibrant community where everyone is welcomed and respected, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, culture, religion, political affiliation, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, or any other identity. I am eager to get to know members of the great Class of 2028. My wife, Vanilla Bing-Wolapaye, and I live in Princeton, along with our three year old daughter, Xhiah (pronounced Hee-yah). I love reading, exploring the outdoors, traveling, meeting new people, volunteering and supporting Princeton Athletics. I look forward to meeting you so I’ll be reaching out to you to chat so I can get to know you. Feel free to stop by the office or reach out to me anytime as well.
