Welcome to Whitman College!
As Dean, I am excited to help all of our “Whitmanites” grow and thrive here at Princeton. I oversee the College and our wonderful staff in the College Office; my goal is that our community is a happy, healthy, intellectually engaging, and safe home-away-from-home for all of our students. I also work with departments to provide academic advising to juniors and seniors. I’m always happy to meet with students about any questions or concerns they might have: you can make an appointment using my Calendly, or stop by the College Office. My drop-in hours are most Fridays from 1:30-3:00 PM while classes are in session, but feel free to come visit any time for coffee and snacks!
I’ve worked at Whitman for some time, and at Princeton even longer! Before becoming your Dean, I served in the role now known as Assistant Dean for Studies here at Whitman. I’ve also served as Assistant Director, Science Education with the Council on Science and Technology and a Lecturer in the Molecular Biology Department, as well as a Faculty Adviser at Butler College. I earned my Ph.D. here at Princeton, in the Molecular Biology Department, with a focus on investigating the assembly of the outer membrane of Escherichia coli through genetic methods, and before that, earned a B.S. in Biology at The College of New Jersey.
When I’m not here at Whitman, I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, and, having grown up near Philadelphia, am a big fan of all Philadelphia sports teams. I especially enjoy ice hockey and the Flyers, and I’m a Fellow for both the men’s and women’s ice hockey teams here at Princeton.
I’m so looking forward to meeting our newest Whitmanites in the Class of 2028, and to getting to know our current students better in the coming year!
